I worked for TMC. When I got hired half of this physical nonsense wasn't there. The doctor is their doctor, or used to be anyway. Two things,
1. Your only mistake was wearing that ace bandage. They very likely assumed your injury was more recent or more severe than it was and cut you because of a (unfounded judging by your account) future comp claim. Skip the bandage, I'm sure you won't need it to pass a company physical if you race MX.
2. TMC does not, or didn't in my case, put anything at all in the DAC report aside from employment start and employment end date. I've heard anecdotes like this from a number of former TMC drivers, who've had incidents that usually get posted to DAC. I wouldn't worry about this too much. -
just an update for everybody. This week ended up being a really good week for me. I ended up getting a job with Best One Tire as their p&d driver. Its a day cab international truck. I am home every single night and off on weekends. Anything over 40 hours is time and a half. I absolutly love it!! The pay quite honestly is not great but given I dont have ANY exp. driving other than CDL school it is very appropriate...and I get all the overtime I want. Averaging 50 hrs right now, and summer they said 60 is easy. I love how physical the job is, I have to unload the tires myself at the locations (my route is 90% Ryder and 10% UPS) and then load the ones that they need re-capped on also. To most they would hate this but I love it, thats why I was going flatbed in the first place. Overall....I think TMC did me the best favor anyone has ever done for me. I wanted to give a huge thanks to everybody who gave advice and recommendations!!
Cat sdp and Swamprat55 Thank this. -
Sounds like you found yourself a good starter job, once you have a year or two behind you then is the time you can start to move up the ranks into a better job.
As far as TMC goes, they bought the company I used to be leased to and turned what was a good deal into a Sierra Hotel India Tango SAMMICH!
I will never do it, but for years I have had a little fantasy about taking my big red Kenworth out in Harold Annette's oh so precious grass and doing a bunch of doughnuts.
Like I said, will never happen but it's fun to think about. -
Ask TMC, WHERE IN THE fmcsa rule book, it is located , that if anyone who has ACL surgery is prohibited from driving truck.?
-
Oh you can have the surgury....you just cant wear an ace bandage lol
-
Everyone saying dont wear an ace bandage is comical! Ive broke my ankle 2 times, now I wear an ankle brace 24/7 and not ONCE has any doctor had a problem with it, most thought it was a good idea!
Tmc is a crap company and did you a favor! -
Common Sense.....Do Not Wear Bandage.....
