First day of orientation went the way it was to be expected, a lot of discussions about the trucks, what's expected, company policies and a brief overview of the contracts. It actually was a very good day, made a lot of new friends and got a lot of valuable information.

The morning started out with a really good breakfast at the hotel, then taken by van to the maintenance garage to meet the service director who went over the procedures of getting service done on your truck. Then we were bussed off to Concerta for drug testing, which is just your basic turn your head and cough physical and drug test. If you are a company driver it is a little more in depth, but the two company drivers there passed easily. After drug testing we all went to lunch at a local sub shop and then were bussed back to the main terminal where we went over more paperwork, looked briefly over the contracts and met someone from the safety and the log departments. Orientation was over for the day at 4pm and we headed back to the hotel.

Myself and a few other drivers got the hotel to take us to Harrahs Casino to grab some dinner and a little free time. When we got back to the hotel we relaxed and went over the contracts. All in all it was a really good day. Looking forward to tomorrow and getting closer to being back out on the road making some money. It's late and I am ready for bed, so I will post more tomorrow.

Second day of orientation was a good day. We started out with breakfast at the hotel, then were bussed to the terminal at 8am. Today was a bunch of classes going over more paper work and expectations. We watched hazmat videos and took a short open book quiz over the material. Lunch was at a nice little pizza, pasta and salad joint. It was all you can eat and was pretty tasty.

We did find out the trucks that we would be getting and everyone pretty much got what they were hoping to get. I picked a 2009 KW T660, black with a 72in single bunk sleeper with an APU. The truck has 326,000 and is nicely equipped. The payment on the truck is $577.28 a week for 40 months and has a $10,000 buyout on the end.

Tomorrow is road tests, and signing the contracts. We do have a few other business classes to take but hopefully will be dispatched out sometime Thursday! It will be nice to get rolling and start making some money!!

Have a good night y'all, and I'll type more tomorrow.

Well we finally did it!! We all signed our leases today. What I really like about this company is that they have been completely upfront about our leases, so much so that I personally have had a copy of the lease for about three weeks. When we got our leases today, they were exactly the same as the blank lease that I received. That might not seem like much, but to me it means that they are not trying to hide anything from us.

This morning started like the any other, breakfast and loading ourselves in the van to be taken to the maintenance garage. We got the keys to our trucks so that we could inspect them, and while we were doing this we were taking our road tests. They tests were not hard, especially if you know how to keep it between the lines. After our road tests, we headed off for lunch. It might not sound like much, but we went to a local grocery store to grab lunch. They actually have a good buffet.

After lunch it was back to the main terminal to go over our leases and signing them. It wasn't nearly as painful as I thought that it would be. Tomorrow will be a half day going over the qualcomm, and over ATBS. After that we will com back to the hotel and load our trucks to get ready for dispatch in the morning. Can't wait to get running, need to make some money!

    More later....

We finished orientation yesterday around noon and got our trucks over to the hotel last night. LOL, six trucks take up a bunch of parking spots when they are all parked together. Everyone seemed to be feeling good about their decision to go to ACT. I know that I am, I really think that they want us to succed, and I know that I will try my hardest to do just that. First load for me is a load of tires that picks up at 19:30 tonight, going to Terrell, TX. It delivers tomorrow when I get it there, then I am going to swing by the house to get the rest of my stuff and show off the truck to the wife and kids. Hope that I can get a load Sunday that will deliver Monday so I can get it on Fridays settlement.
