There are always going to be jerks around. Every outfit has them, and every industry or profession has them. Not much you can do about it, just know that you did what you should do.

Keep in mind that should you find yourself in the predicament of being beside a roadway when you do your pretrip, KEEP your front, and your EYES on the road, as well as on your inspection. No need to become a pancake when some idiot sideswipes your trailer....

Well, at least the electrical problem is fixed, or will be.....

Did that once, same situation no damaged. Hooked up, did tug test and was hooked and as soon as I pulled the parking brake the kingpin unclamped from the trailer. Ended up being a tiny woodchip lodged in the pull pin on the dashboard keeping it from fully retracting. And the chip was small, the pull lever on the dash was out maybe half a cm, touchy thing. Since then I always pull the 5th wheel, no easy ways out go unpunished in trucking.

When I put a trailer OOS o would tag it and send a message to the shop. That way if someone pulls the tag off and takes it they can't log it in the system

Something like that happened to me in Iowa once. I was dispatched on a preloaded trailer at Oscar Meyer. Some moron had left a lease trailer that was not to be dropped anywhere outside of a particular company. Oscar Meyer loaded it but the night dispatch guy could not get the trailer to load into the system. It did not take long for the night guy to start blaming me. I came close to leaving the load and returning to the Iowa 80 TS. No you can't leave he said. This went on for about 30 minutes till the night man said just take the #### load and let Andy (my FM) fix it tomorrow. Still funny to this day!
