Appreciate the information but wishing to live closer to the border. My fiancé lives just over in Manitoba. It’d be nice to live close enough to visit on days home while we work on the immigration path to move her here with me. Somehow made living a 30+ hour drive distance work for 4 years but definitely want to be done without that. 5.5 hours and closer to the border would be very nice.

Fargo or Grand Forks. You would get thru Fargo more. Right now the Canadian border is closed to everyone who is not “a essential worker” but you probably know that.

 

I do but that #### has to end at some point. Plus just trying to get my ducks in a row for when things normalize. I really don’t want to be someone who hops from a company 3 months in or 6 months in because oh hey now the borders open sorry carrier x I need to move west now. I strongly believe in finding a company who has their #### together and building a good relationship. Sure stuff happens people do move, but I’d feel like a dirtbag and don’t believe in being overtly selfish and only staying when it solely benefits yourself. I value a good working relationship. (Stayed at previous employer 6.5yrs)

 

Obviously not saying that about what you said haha. Just had some people outside this forum trying to give me what I believe is #### advice. Didn’t mean to rant. Not pointed at you man.

 

Canadian border is wide open for any and all trucking. I cross all the time no matter if I’m loaded, empty, or even bobtail.

 

Interesting I knew for sure loads still getting across, didn’t know bobtail was allowed though.

 

Sure is. I just did it yesterday afternoon. Have to get to my empty somehow.

You are considered an essential worker, you can’t cross just to visit.
