So you have not installed the amp and used it yet? I drive a transfer dump so I know exactly what you're up to mister! I can't say either way how that radio will do at close range. My 80w does just fine in close range, but you are doubling that. In my truck I just had a mildly tuned Cobra 29. It also depends on your antenna and who tunes it. If that modulation limiter gets clipped by some goofy "radio tech," do not expect to be heard at such close range. If it gets a clean tune or no tune at all, make sure you have a good antenna and you should be alright!

I have not installed it in the loader yet as we are layed off for the winter, Back to work in april when the load restrictions come off. I have it in my truck and use it with the Cobra, Works good
I just don't want to wire it up in my loader if I don't have to. I quess I have to decide if I want to trade the amp for the S9 or not. The hottest radio in the yard is only doing 100 Watts so I guess either way I'll be fine.
Mad Dog, UHF/VHF is not an option. We own the trailers and hire trucks/drivers to pull them, We have a pretty high turnover of help and a fair share of break downs. -
Can you understand that 100w ok? Your radio should be fine if not hacked up. I would go for it.

Thanks for the help guys, I'm going ahead with the deal and if I'm not happy with it.......................It's the Flying Dutchmans fault

I can take the blame...as a matter of fact, if it really doesn't work out, hit me up and I can maybe buy it off your or at least try to work out a trade!
