Ok I posted about 3 weeks ago asking if what I got was a ticket or a warning. It was at a scale house in Louisiana for logbook not updated. Yes I know, I own the mistake. He let me correct it gave me a warning. Now today in the mail, you guessed it, a violation for $125 I'm going to pay, not worth fighting, unless it will put a bad hurt on me. My questions are is this a non moving violation, and will it show on my mvr? My small 6 truck company knows about it. They say it happens to the best if us, then they razz me about it. How bad is a logbook ticket if I did want to move companies one day? I have a clean mvr except for this. No tickets or accidents. Thanks

It's not a moving violationbut it will show on your csa. that's where the problem might be but if you wait a year it will be less severe.

Yep, that's how LA operates. They give you a piece of paper with an infraction on it. Then you get a present in the mail about month later. One can call the number on the infraction and the lady will give you the dollar amount.
You single drivers that stay out need to be aware of this or you'll miss the letter and paying the fine. Then your license gets suspended. Plan your home time about 4-5 weeks after the infraction so you get the letter. I think once you get the letter, you have 45 days to pay it from the date on it.

Well, for the other half of us who are not perfect, stuff happens, my mistake, I own it, it was a over site, not intentional. Yes, having csa points sucks, it not going to be that uncommon to have points though. Sure, some great drivers will be point free, some will het the super trooper who will find a reason. I don't dislike csa, I think it will be good in long run. But to all the young drivers out there, csa points although are not good to get, there not the death of a driving career. It's designed to correct the problem, so, correct the problem! I will now always double check my logs. Problem solved. Problems are when you start collecting points, than you should look at you choice of careers. Csa is not the end of our world, just adapt and overcome!

Nobody is perfect. Some might think they are. They just haven't got caught yet.

You drive over a million miles, something will happen some where, some how.

CSA does have a sliding scale and like you said it is intervention. It isn't the end of the world unless you are habitual offender.

I can imagine what the troll said. That's why his post is deleted. Not so perfect after all, huh! :)

This is your first ticket in 5 years of driving? In three years it will be gone and if you went looking for another job today I dont think you would have a problem getting one. Now if this was your 5th ticket it would be a problem.
