Motorcycles can do this in a few states already, but on average a rider is a bit more "aware" of his/her surroundings.

    Why do they hate motorcyclists?

I understand the left on red for bikes, my 750 wouldn't trip the sensors in the pavement. I'd normally wait through an entire cycle, realize it wasn't picking up the pulse, then run the light when it was clear.

Having ridden motorcycles on the street for the better part of 35 years, I understand completely. And, I have "run" many red lights over the years. I was just thinking that some poor SOB is going to get greased because someone in a minivan is going to make a left-on-red immediately in front of them.

In Ohio we passed a law recently for light sensor not being tripped. I believe it's 2 light cycles no trip or such and you can go through it. I can understand left on red from one way to a one way, but in my opinion a left on red in theory is worse than being allowed to go straight through Intersection. At least then your out and through the flow of traffic. Nothing seems to surprise me anymore

Just remove all traffic control devices and speed limits, and let natural selection take over. Too many people as it is, time to thin the herd.
