Close your eyes and just think about finishing your training anything in between you can and will get thru it. Learn to give people their way if understand what I'm saying. This is all new to you but I'm hoping your next trainer will be able to teach and get you thru training.

Thats what I'm hoping for. I've had my class B since 2010 but the only work i'd done prior is moving and storage work in a commercial box truck. I was home every night. This is like a completely different world. I liken it to being invited in to somebody else's home for an extended stay, except for the fact that the person who owns the home didn't actually invite you and you're treated more like the help than a guest. It's awkward and problematic all at once. I understand now why more people quit during training than actually finish...

What implied judgment would that be?

If I were having HALF the problems you've said you had, I would have left this "unnamed carrier" long ago. There are too many options out there, for student drivers, for someone to stay at a place where they are treated lower than dirt.

Company Plant?:biggrin_2556: Been there done that with mega carrier and trainer. Werner. My mistake on mixing up your many mentors and who did what. For someone to make a committment to keeping you on a truck with all the students backed up looking for trucks to get on just doesnt make any sense. Im guessing if someone forced you to drive 10-11 hours straight they had a gun to your head.
Confrontational? Your not the first person to put up with a lot of bull from a major carrier. Some of what you were saying just didn't make sense. The thing that is common thread through all of the story is you. There are a lot of good trainers out there that are also tough and are not gonna cut much slack as it is thier neck on the line as well. It is serious business running a truck down the road and some will make sure they are not a part of the problem. The one thing I did not notice is if you had dealt with any shippers or recievers yet. That is a whole different kettle of worms itself.
Stick it out. The bad times and unfair things that happen are lessons you learn along the way. Everyday I learn something even if it is wrong. Ignorance begins when you think you have all the answers. Never stop asking the questions.:yes2557:
Get some time in and then keep your eyes and ears open. There are other options out there.

That's why they started calling them "mentors".

I've also noticed that many times, those who say "they don't preach", are some of the worst offenders. It's not "preaching" to them, just helping the "misguided"..........

I know this is probably throwing a can of worms against the wall, but it looks like hey are spilling out anyway.

When I was in the service, I slept next to a guy that was a devout Christian who read his bible, listened to Christian music on a Walkman ( does that date me? ) and would say things like "I'm praying for you" or something like that whenever we would cuss, talk about chicks, and other "dude stuff". At first, I figured to each his own and didn't pay attention to it. After a while, living with this cat in such close confines took on a new meaning. You start looking at every little detail and everything, good and bad, starts to get magnified. What I'm trying to say is that you are already aggravated, and you start looking for little things that justify the complete hatred you have developed for someone, be it justified or not. It's not really the particular person, he just happens to be there. The fact that you are so up close and personal is just a small part of the overall picture.

Now, I dig Jesus as much as the next guy, I just don't want to hear someone else tell me, or actually even show me, how much THEY dig him. If the guy hears your music, then you are bringing it into the public arena that the two of y'all, and everybody else, shares. Some people will naturally resent it. When you are living in such a small area like a truck, coupled with the fact that the guy is probably just finding out that the "unnamed mega carrier that is starting to sound like Swifty " is screwing him on a lease, AND you are costing him money because of mpg, then I can certainly understand that he would get peeved at hearing music he doesn't want to hear. I'm not saying you were a problem to him. I'm saying that you probably contributed a small part to his overall problems, and you were just in the wrong place and time when it finally boiled over for him.

Again, you are a person of faith and I respect your beliefs. I just don't want to hear about them unless I decide to actually ask you about them

Get me a pre hire at a single other one and I'll be more inclined to believe you. The fact of the matter is that SWIFT (There I named them) is the ONLY company I've been able to find willing to work with a Commercial License holder sans a refresher course. There are others that claim to but they'll also either push you in to a lease or deduct money from your check for said refresher...

I said I didn't preach. I also said I respected everyone's right to believe. I NEVER said I didn't harbor judgement against those people who don't believe the way I do. We're all guilty of judgmental feelings, thoughts or actions in some form or fashion, somewhere along the line in our lives. And if anyone says otherwise they're more than likely lying...

I have friends who smoke weed, drink, smoke cigs; Friends who've served time in county, prison, etc. I have people in my circle with whom i associate who've done some terrible things along the way. Thats just where I'm from. Do I have judgmental thoughts or feelings surrounding those people. Sure. Do I ever verbalize those feelings or beat them over the head with a bible? No. I'll simply pray for their tomorrow and live for my today. I can't change anybody else's behavior, nor would I want to. And these are good people deep down, who in my own personal opinion, are simply still waiting to be enlightened...

And as a late edit; If im subjected to the O/O's loud and profane gangster rap music at 2 in the afternoon while he's driving and I'm trying to sleep, I highly doubt some generic rock with the words Jesus scattered throughout is going to kill him at 2am when I'm stuck driving...
