Well it took 4 hours but I finally made it to Fort MacKay. Its amazing how unprepared most people are. I couldn't believe how many people ran out of gas on the road.

Not joking. About 10km/h all the way. Shoulders were packed with cars and people were setting up their RV's in the center median. Its crazy. Over 60k people displaced in just a few hours. I found I nice quiet corner in the back yard and I'm crashing in the back seat of my truck for tonight. Hopefully I still have a home to go to tomorrow but I'm doubtful.

    Hopefully your home is OK.

They're reporting no injuries which is amazing and the best that anyone can hope for. A fire can spread a heck of a lot faster than people can evacuate.

Best of luck to all affected.

This twitter video is wild, that would be one heck of a nerve wrecking ride.

No injuries truely is amazing. I feel for the trailer park residents. For a lot of them, that's home. They have nothing and nowhere to go

Most recent update. Sounds like we took some heavy losses in the southwest part of town. I thought for sure I lost my place but I'm hopeful now that I see downtown only lost 1 home.

Alberta Transportation is escorting a fuel tanker on 63 north of Grassland to fill up cars and trucks that have run of gas.

I really feel bad for everyone including yourself NorMech.

Hey you live here too don't you? You doing alright?

I just drove through downtown. Nothing has been touched. My place was still standing. Grabbed my guitars and some food. Was stuck at the Petro in FMK for 2 hours to top my tank off this morning. From my understanding, Beacon Hill is history. One reporter was wondering where the remaining 20% is. I don't think 90% of Waterways is gone. There still looks like there's a decent amount of homes still standing. There were rumours that the hospital burned up but its still there.
