Cameras and the CB ban.
And I wouldn’t count on getting any sign on bonus. Those have a tendency to conveniently disappear.

When I worked there. I signed an agreement spelling out how much and when I would be paid the bonus. ( they split it up) You get a copy of this. I got my first payment right on time..Secons payment i had to call payroll to get it but I got paid.
Not a fan of Saia but they did pay me my bonus as agreed.MACK E-6 Thanks this. -
That needs to be approached with caution though, is that a new expansion terminal or is it a established terminal, offering sign bonuses and higher CPM rates is one thing if it's because of growth and a need for drivers, but if it's because of turnover in that terminal then that is a problem.

Do you guys know why SAIA put driver facing cams in their rigs? Do you think Rick O' Dell just woke up one day and said, "hey, let's piss off the workforce in one of the greatest freight booms of our generation and spend a whole bunch of money on useless electronic doodads?" No, it's because some dummy SAIA linehaul driver was cruising down the interstate while texting and slammed into the back of stopped traffic wiping out a whole bunch of people. SAIA got sued for over $100 million and this case will set them back for years when the dust finally settles.
I don't care what anyone says, I'm FOR driving facing cameras in all trucks and yes sir, I'm a driver. If those cameras save 1 LIFE they're worth 10X the investment in spades !! -
Cameras are gonna be everywhere. The great ABF has driver facing cameras now.
-
Of course, they let ABF negotiate the prohibition out of their contract (wrong). I think it'll be quite some time until they come to FXF, Harrison knows that bringing it will certainly bring about a union presence.Last edited: Apr 14, 2019
Reason for edit: Mistakenly took information on another forum about this, after verifying in actual Contracts, I was wrong. -
Last contract abf had said cameras can not be used to punish the drivers
-
What do you mean change of operation if your talking about ue they talked about that the past 10 years
-
Your response prompted me to actually read the verbiage instead of going off what I had read elsewhere, I was wrong about an outright prohibition on cameras at ABF.

Just another company I won't be working for!
