Lol, my A/C works but the resistor on the blower died last night. I'm afraid to fix it, scared to see what dies next.![]()

Yeah I run them on the front axle and they work fine.

Boy I'm telling you it was a cold ride up to there yesterday....
-
Yea like Les said they work fine. I think the harder compound of the cap resists chunking out like the softer virgin tires tend to, front or back axle.
-
I do and have not had a problem. There again you need the right tread for the job. -
Good thing you probably found another driver to cuddle with to warm up!

"Swift, party of 2 your shower's available"
Oh and the resister didn't die until later that night so it was only like 70* by that time. On a side note I'd rather take a shovel to the forehead than replace that thing again. I'd like to thank the KW engineer that thought the perfect place to put it was behind the duct work, behind the cup holder where you need 12" long fingers to get to it!

So a truck engineer caught a mechanic in bed with his wife too, just like the auto engineers?

That's my hubby's theory on why vehicles are so hard to work on these days.
Les2 Thanks this. -
I thought the resistor was mounted out on the fire wall behind the passenger tire, or is that just on the older models? We are talking about the thing that tells the AC when to kick out and in right?
Yea cuddled with these two.....

No this is the resistor that slows the blower motor down. I lost low a few days ago and yesterday I lost it totally. Works now!
The only way your going to touch either of those 2 blonds is if you print them out.
-
Has to be something. I think in order to put a product to market the engineer must be able to easily replace the part he designs. Well nevermind in that case there would be no aero trucks made!

So you designed a truck that requires a mechanic charging $100+ per hr to lay across the engine and reach 2' under the window to get to the back 4 cylinders? Your fired!

A year ago I got a really good deal on a set of Roadmasters for the rear axle of my trailer and went ahead and put them on.
They are actually wearing really well...I would never run them on my tractor but they haven't been bad on the trailer...So to answer your question, Yes! I would rather run the Roadmasters or some other "cheap" virgin tire than a cap.
I probably won't buy another set though because I just can't see any valid reason to run "cheap tires" I just put a set of Dunlops on my front trailer axle to replace the Generals that finally wore out.
