Maybe we should be easy on the kid about being wrong about the steering tires thing.
He has already been Shanghaied into some kind of commitment to work for TMC and he is happy about it.
Boy those shiny black trucks suck them in don't they. -
Only blow-out I've had in 17 years of driving PERIOD has been virgin rubber. ONE blew out and I knew it was going to blow but the shop told me to drive the pick-up home. Made a hellava bang when it went and rocked the whole pick-up pretty good too. Good thing it was one of two on that side. Sure that was when I was driving a F350 for a steel place, but it still counts right? Man did we ever overload those trucks.
Ran recaps on a old 4x4 truck (all sides) and didn't have a problem with them. Ran recaps on some other trucks too. Probably recap the tires on my F250 as well. -
I believe that recaps on the steer axle applies to any commercial vehicle rated with a 10 thousand pound payload. I would have to look it up but I'm pretty sure that's the way it reads. At least that's the way I understood it anyway. I have been wrong before so it would'nt surprise me if it happened again. LOL

We run caps on our dumps till they are close to junk and then put them on the belly dump and run em till there bald. I blew one the other day but it should have been replaced a week ago. The tire dealer didn't have our caps in when i was in town. Never blown one on the trucks and we have lots of sharp rocks Ect. and are on curbs all the time. Had 2 caps on the truck i rolled last week that were section repaired over 10,000 miles ago and they are holding up fine. I really think it depends on where you buy em. Broncrider and i get our tires at the same place............. -
ok sorry I was wrong on the fmcsr regs It was the Nebraska regs I was confusing with the fmcsr #### make one mistake and get crusified. Now I see why truckers have a bad rap. its guys like you.
Hey if you can give me the name of a company that is better for me please let me know which one it is? Oh wait I forgot you have no Idea what I am looking for in a company do you. So you dont like TMC? whats wrong you couldnt cut it there or what? -
Sabre4x4, I'm not sure about the T.M.C. thing, all I can tell you is I was going to sign on with them many, many moons ago but we had a dispute over the dreaded money thing. They wanted way too much to pull their trls and they said at the time they done too much drop and hook for me to use my own. I guess their doing okay I still see they keep their trucks up pretty good and they seem to trade in regularly. As far as being a driver of theirs I would be afarid to say. I'm sure they got their faults just like any other company if it serves your needs and you can get along with their payscale and hometime I say go for it. When people start raggin on you for workin there, just remember, they had to start somewhere too. I hope this helps, keep us posted of your progress and if I can help or answer anymore questions let me know. Good Luck!!!

Only tire I ever blew out was a virgin front but it was due to debris as opposed to tire malfunction. No fun at all. Loaded with 35K of ice cream on the tail end of a long drive home.
