Thanks for the wonderful job. I usually give a dollar or 2 tip when it's clean. If it's not, I don't shower or fuel there and that is how we can help make them realize we need clean showers. The bosselmans' seem like the best with cleanliness and room.

Thank you for caring. As others have said , your a rare breed, and it's is appreceated very much. We just hope that your manager takes notice. But why don't they want you want using bleach? Even health depts allow kitchens to use bleach water, to sanitize counter tops, or any surface that comes in contact with food, dish/ silver ware. Even the floors.
Yes there are many locations, of all four major chains, that are just gross. And yes it all starts with management not really caring. They may make a site inspection once a day, but showers and restrooms need to be inspected thru out the day by supervisors/ store management. I see those so called inpsection sign out sheets on the back of the restroom doors, but many times they are just checked off, yet the restroom hasn't been cleaned/ restocked. I hope that PFJ, will allocate some of that money they are planning to spend on the shower remodels, to go into wages for the Maint. Staff.
I have had many a bad shower expreance , and i'm not afraid to take pictures with cell phone and post them on thier facebook page, as well as show the cashier/ manager. This works wonders when you ask for a refund / shower credit. Which i have always have gotton, either from the store, or the home office, after posting it on thier facebook page.
I think if more drivers would do this, showers/ restrooms/ resturants/ the place in general would be cleaner. The power of Social Media and unclean places, is just mind blowing, in the response one can get.
As for the upgrade soon to start at Pilot, didn't they just complete an upgrade, and then last summer or the summer before, had the Rate our shower survey?formertaxidriver, tna and nascarchuck Thank this. -
Maybe because being they are showers that there is a chance some slob peed on the floor and the reaction between urine and chlorine is not pleasant!
Made that mistake after using bleach to disinfect where my dog peed in the garage when we kept him in there during a party. -
You're already doing more than enough to make things better.

MSee, Sweet n Low, you're in a tough spot. You have some drivers that act like they were raised by wolves. Notice I said SOME. But the other thing working against you is Pilot. I just assumed that they didn't want you guys using bleach and other cleaners because they didn't want to buy it. The thing that annoys me about Pilot is not so much the employees themselves, but the lack of employees. They always seem to be grossly under staffed. All that being said, I used to frequent the Pilot in Mt. Comfort, In. regularly. Back then they had a kid Melvin working there, and Melvin did a bang up job. Made my monday nights away from home a little more pleasant walking into a clean shower. I made it a point to tip Melvin, and leave a little extra before Christmas. The best thing drivers can do though, is pull the manager aside, and tell him or her about your GOOD shower experience, not just your bad one. And even call the 1800 number and tell them too.

I was just calculating $49 million in shower upgrades, as mentioned. I figure 350 Pilot locations times 5 showers each equals 1750 showers divided by $49 mil equals $28,000 per shower. Of course, my figures aren't exact, just estimates. For $28 grand, we will have gold plated hardware, diamond toilet seats, and personal masseuses to dry us off.
bullhaulerswife Thanks this. -
Pilots are a mess now.... can you imagine trying to get into one if they did this?
-
they are going to up grade flying Js as well, 500 +total locations, comes out to be about $11,000 per shower.

Loves is building everywhere.Never got a dirty shower there or then nasty attitude of the folks at the pilots
-
Memphis, IN is a nasty Loves. Only been to 1 bad Pilot and it was still Independently owned. Somewhere in PA. Has a nasty hotel attached to it.
To the OP. Thanks.
