I am going to CDL school sponsored by a company.

The company is paying for the school and hotel, but I will not be getting paid during the four week program, with no paycheck from the company until 2 weeks into my actual employment there. This means I will be 6 weeks without a paycheck.

I barely make enough right now to make ends meet. I have no savings. How can I make ends meet for over a month with nothing to fall back on?

    Thanks

Wish you'd have been on this forum earlier. There are companies that pay students hourly or weekly pay until they go on drivers pay.
Will the company you're with give you pay advances? Pay advances aren't recommended, but if you need food money, may have to do that.

Borrow money from someone or buy your food during training on a credit card.

As Chinatown mentioned, there is so many companies out there that offer pay while you go thru training. Is it too late to look into another company to obtain your CDL that offers pay while you train?

You need to find another company.asap. What company is this? Is there a reason you chose them? Something to prevent you from getting hired somewhere better? So so many other companies will pay you for training..

    Motel will have breakfast.
    Company will provide lunch.
    Ramen for dinner.
What do you spend your money on now?
Do you buy any fast food?
    Smoke?
There is always something you can cut out.

Don’t most of the megas offer paid training? It isn’t much, BUT it’s money rolling in. Like $300-400/week or something. I’d rather have that than absolutely nothing.

As far as I know most pay something. I think Prime gives pay advances of $200 weekly during school. Don't know what the pay is when the student hits the road with a trainer.
    ~
    These pay during cdl school:
    RE West pays hourly
    Western Dairy Transport pays hourly
    Roehl Transport pays $616.00 weekly
    Yellow pays hourly
