Hey RevKev, i turned in my app a couple of days ago and met dave. I also put you down as my referral, he had nothing but good words about you. I should be taking my road test and drug test this week and hopefully starting soon. While i'm here, do you know what speed the loads are dispatched at and do they plan the routes or do we plan our own? I would assume hazmat is alot different than flat when it comes to routes. Also what are the trucks governed at?

Load assignments, as for the timing of them varies. I've known a couple of loads in advance where I'm going; other times I find out in the afternoon where I'm going next. They don't tell you which route to take, but will offer directions. Other drivers will prefer different ways, but they're alwaysing to help out. The trucks are governed at 68mph. The surge of the chemical loads will be the biggest thing to get used to, but like hauling coils, just take the curves/exits S L O W L Y !! Thanks for the referral! Look forward to meeting ya!

I couldn't say for sure, but my best guess would be probably so. That's the home or main terminal. I spoke with a guy who's about to start training in a couple weeks to work out of our terminal in Decatur. He said there's an orientation coming up a couple weeks after he starts training. Considering they've scheduled an orientation, sorta says to me they're hiring company-wide. TWT handles orientations a bit differently from other companies, waiting till they have several new trainees/employees before scheduling one. Best thing would be to just give them a call or go by there & fill out an app. If ya do, I'd appreciate the referral, if ya don't mind. My name is Kevin Crawford. Feel free to shoot any questions ya might have my way, either in this thread or in a PM.

I'm considering them as a final career move. I live in the Columbia, SC area, and I know they have a small place just the other side of the city here.

I was in Greenville earlier this week. So far I've not regretted coming to TWT at all. Did my dry bulk training at our Cowpens, SC terminal. Great folks over there. When ya decide to make the move, hope you'll mention me as a referral. :)
