Fiance and I are enrolled into Dootson School of Trucking. It is not one of the programs that are 160+ hours. We currently are approved for Prime and will start out in TNT once we complete our school here in California. We also have an offer from TWT, however, our pick is Prime. Just can't wait to finish our training and get our on the road for our TNT.

They told me its a 4 day course, pre trip inspection for 1 ful day ( 5 hours ) then backing and the rest is the other 3 days. I dont think that would be enough for me to but I was going to give it a try. But it sound like it would be a waste of time and money

The PSD program sounds like a great program for anyone to get their CDL. I just like their program and how they operate and their training sounds interesting, by the time you go solo you should already know most of the things you needed to know. Because of what I've been reading about this company, Prime grabs my attention into trucking even more. If I was planning to stay , I would of try the leasing program. I know a friend that joined the lease program after 1 month and he loves it a lot and make more money than a company driver. He said he rather lease than be on the company side. He gave me the tips on how he do it and it sounds like if you could keep a good mpg and have a good dm to keep you running, you will make good money. I will just get my CDL permit and then go through the PSD program instead of spending the $600

That is a much wiser decision no need to waste your money, thanks to all you drivers who gave advice of not doing the $600 course, it is impossible to learn much in a very short period of time.

Prime wont let a new student driver tanker for at least a year. Least ways that is what I was told.

I think its .42 or .43 per mile plus fuel bonus etc. Home time i believe was 1 for every 7 out.
