I got a dorm fridge from Home Depot but it broke. I returned it and god a Koolatron from Love's. I'm not sure if switching from Compressor to Thermoelectric makes a difference. I go over rough patches of I-95 so maybe all the bumps messed with the compressor fridge.

I also picked up a cheap microwave from Walmart. I like being able to nuke scrambled eggs with it for a quick meal.

I saw a guy set up a road bike trainer in place of a passenger seat. That's something to do when you run team.

Most likely the inverter killed the compressor.

Seems I read compressor fridges were recommended for being good on power or something. Guess that was wrong. Oh well, at least Home Depot took it back.

I bought Master Chef at Home depot 3 years ago for about $100. This is a compressor mini fridge hooked up to an inverter. It's been running good so far. I just set it on the floor without any mounts. It is just squeezed in between the bed and the passenger seat. Even though, this one is the 4th mini fridge I've had (but the 1st of this brand) in the last 8 years since I stopped using those 12 V coolers that run down my batteries or they were inefficient in higher ambient temps unless you idled the truck all the time or their internal little fans failed all the time, I'll sure get another one like that if it eventually fails.

    Look up the thread
    "Operation insulation"
Not sure how to make that a link, but, best money I spent on this truck. MUCH warmer and quieter. Much.

I'll offer a really inexpensive and non-invasive solution, one which many guys fail to do: buy nice bedding (blankets and sheets) that match your interior. That alone will make the truck seem much nicer. (I always wondered why truck show displays always looked nice - they all had matching bedding.) Then I'd buy a simple matching throw rug. I got one from Ikea for about $30. That also made a big difference.

Also, a square 5 gallon water container from the camping section. Then the usual microwave, kettle and coffee maker.

And the most important thing - keep it clean. A clean truck is a happy truck.

P.S. I always wanted a bicycle rack on the back of my cab. Just to get out every now and then.
