This is straight bs, I don't know where people come up with this stuff.
Just because a person isn't able to do nights doesn't mean they shouldn't be a driver .
Fact is that's how I am with days, always tired no matter how good I slept and its because I'm naturally nocturnal some people are day shift people some are night. The sleep scientist have a term for it YOUR EITHER A LARK OR AN OWL

One of the hardest things for a new driver is to adjust to the "trucking lifestyle." Its a different cycle than the ol' 9 to 5. Some folks can never get past awake during the day/sleep at night. Others can adjust more readily.
Hint: never pass up the opportunity for a nap.Giggles the Original and Lepton1 Thank this. -
This was proven by a number of trucking publications that dug into actual city, state and county records -
Plus there are things that you can do to make you feel better.
1. Exercise. If you exercise, when it's time to sleep, the brain will shut down faster.
2. Get out of the truck when you can. Grab a motel for a day or so.
3. Someone already mentioned it, nap when you can. If the trucks in the shop for a PM, I'm in the sleeper. It's sleep. Waiting at shippers and receivers, I'm sleep.
'How do you go to sleep in the middle of the day?'
Crawl under the covers and close my eyes. Anyways, I think you are doing well so far. Keep it up.Giggles the Original, texasbbqbest and KW Cajun Thank this. -

You have appointments to make... you have to be on time or early. That's the job... sleep gets fit on where you can fit it without messing up your performance.
