I have a question, something I’ve never had to deal with before. In the past, all the ones I’ve felt with have been air slide.
How do you slide/move a non air slide 5th wheel?

Move 5th wheel same as air slide but you have to Manually unlock the 5th wheel to slide then Manually release lock to lock 5th back in place
Lonwolv54 Thanks this. -
I got more info, it’s a “fixed” 5th wheel. It seems like it’s just sitting a bit farther forward on the front axle then it should be, but not sure how it gets adjusted

"fixed" 5th wheel means it's welded in place.
it ain't movin'snowmantrucking101 and Pickleball Thank this. -
A picture would be worth that thousand words on this one.
MACK E-6, 201 and Walk Among Us Thank this. -
It’s bolted down, but I was under the impression it’s considered fixed and doesn’t move. Again not used to this setup so I am trying to learn.

I’ll have to get a picture, it’s a truck that I’m looking at.

Tractor was set up with that fifth wheel to pull one trailer or trailers all set up the same way. Lighter weight and less hassle that way.
Oxbow Thanks this. -
most tankers I drove had a fixed 5th wheel

It's fixed, it's not moving, you can't adjust it's position without unbolting it, and maybe not even then.
Oxbow Thanks this.
