OP,
You should reconsider your steps moving forward. The MX engine is not prone to turbo failures, like the ISX would be because they continuously eat coolant from failed EGR coolers.
What does happen is when certain faults are logged the engine enters an ERG/ fueling derate. This acts and feels like a loss of boost when active.
My advise......keep the thing stock and take it to someone that knows the engine and can fix it. Otherwise, get rid of it and buy an older non-emissions truck, if thats really what you desire.
