One thing that seems to allude drivers is that they have always had the ability to say no. One can always clean out the truck and go elsewhere that has a better organized operation. Somehow the shortage of drivers thing hasn't quite sunk into folk's mindset yet. There are many trucking operations, OTR not just LTL, that have some impressively low turnover rates. Folks just seem to like it and stay there. It does take an effort to find such carriers, as they are not running full page ads like the revolving door carriers.
