I use my GPS for main routing and depending on where destination is, I'll call and ask for any special local routing...Many times, even recent as this week, this phone call saved me endless time and headaches...

When I am at home and dispatch calls with a new load I used Rand Driving Directions to get a rough estimate of the time frame.
But it is not for trucks. Don't trust the route...
MikeeeeDocWatson Thanks this. -
Oh really? I just got done reading online about how these GPS's get their information for the programming of them. Guess where they get their info? Road atlases and street maps from local, county, and states. Guess what? So does ur Rand McNally road atlas. Guess thats how Rand McNally has a GPS too. Some of us just know how to READ a road atlas. And some wonder why I thought this thread is so funny and entertaining. To think independently is getting used less and less in this industry. And we wonder why more and more usless regs are being put on us truck drivers. Be safe out there drivers. lol

The atlas is useless once you get off the major routes.
