And this is the million dollar (or, trillion) statement!
Big Pharma and Big Gov. are bed partners. I don't trust Big Pharma. Like I don't trust Big Gov. Like I don't trust Big Corp.

Andy Warhol said; Does Life imitate Art or does Art imitate Life?

Seems to me that Movies imitate Life. "You've watched too many movies". Uh huh. Sure. This stuff never happens in REAL life. Just ask those Secret Service agents! That kinda stuff only happens in the movies, ya see.

Oh, that's right, I'm one of those crazy "conspiracy theorists" :)

    Totally OT, I know.. sorry.

My take, after reading all 11 pages, is that a Professional Driver has NO PLACE being under the influence of ANYTHING while being behind the wheel. Prescription, "illegal" or otherwise.

I've smoked it. And when I was younger, thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Thought I'd smoke till the die I died.
I've not touched it in many years. Do I want to? Sure. yeah. I ain't gonna lie. Especially when I'm having a beer or several on a weekend. Ain't nothing wrong with smoking dope on your "own time".

BUT... it is illegal. And that in all honesty is probably the most contributing factor to my own sobriety.
And if you can't put it down for the job, then put the job down.

This is another one of those topics that are beat to death. Everything I've said, is already been said, or anything I want to say, has already been said. But I definitely lean PRO-choice on the subject. But if you're putting others lives at risk, you're a scumbag.

    *ETA*
I too hope it is "legal" when I go to retire because I'd sure like be able to sit and relax on my porch and smoke a cig with my left hand w/out worrying bout doing time for it!

    Oh boy.

Another person stuck in the 100 year old mindset that weed is the worst thing in the world.

Alcohol and Tobacco kill thousands of people each year, yet they're perfectly legal. Marijuana hasn't been responsible for a single death, and yet people crucify those who use it, almost as if they're kid touchers.

Plenty of local truck drivers get drunk on their day off, and return to work perfectly sober, and that's legal. What you do at home is your business, as long as when you show up to work you can perform the necessary duties un-impaired. Do you think weed makes you impaired for 30 days or more? Just because it's in your system doesn't mean you're currently high.

I've never done pot, since I've always been scared to get arressted, but I think it's insane how we're locking up THOUSANDS of young people, spending BILLIONS of dollars a year, simply for being young and curious. Meanwhile, violent criminals get a slap on the wrist, and are out on the street after a year, just to hurt people again. All because we have to make room for those evil pot smokers, who haven't hurt a fly!

People who think the way you do are really holding this nation back.

Meth , crack, cocain, heroin, etc are all HORRIBLE for you. But making them ILLEGAL hasn't done a #### thing to stop people. If people REALLY want to do it, they will get their hands on it. We're putting tons of power into the drug lords of mexico, who have murdered thousands of innocent people, making it frightening for anyone to travel near the border due to how powerful and corrupt these cartels are.

Just legalize it, set an age limit, tax it! Of course I don't want children lighting up a joint, much like they shouldn't smoke a cig or drink beer. Maybe around the age of 21, you're free to do what you want. I think we'll be a lot happier as a nation, weed out all of the dangerous drug lords, and spend a LOT less money on arresting people.

I agree with you 100%, the way things are here means I haven't enjoyed a smoke in nearly 3 years! I can't! The problem with mj is it doesn't go out of your system for such a long time although effects are gone within a few hours! It's crap cos there's Alot of people goon around the place stoned on anti depressants and that's ok? I ask you what's the difference ?

No doubt there are many prescribed drugs that drivers are allowed to use that are much worse than weed.

Trouble is, it is the system we have to live within.

Perhaps a serious study should be done of the actual effects on driving of mj users.
Both casual users who smoke only while off duty, and those that 'sip' all day every day.

If anyone knows of such a study, I would be interested to see the results.

Any idea how stoned you get off Prozac ? Even how dopey you are the day after sleeping pills? Both are worse than marijuana! I know I've tried them all! I wouldn't any more but I'll tell you one thing , it's easier drive on mj and that's the illegal one!

    I have tried sleeping pills.
The first night it works, to some extent.
The second night it has no effect.
The third night I am climbing the walls.

And in every case, I feel less rested in the morning and am groggy the whole next day.

    My system is weird, though.
Many drugs work just the opposite on me.
Demeral has me climbing the walls, and stuff like Novocaine and Marcaine actually induces pain.
I guess that is why I am deathly afraid of dentists.

I loved my ganja spliff first thing in the morning but I had responsibilities toward my wife and children so over 20 yrs ago I had to let it go. You will be alright my friend. You will even wonder why you didn't do it sooner or why you did it at all. Happy trucking.

NOT to derail this topic, but someone mentioned pharma's/pills.

Wanna know something that messed me up one time, unbeknowenst to ME what they would do?

    Zambian

I took one once upon a time to sleep and something happened... don't remember what now, years later, but I didn't get to sleep before I had to go to work - I was a service tech for the computers and stuff they have in Wal-Mart's and Sam's Clubs - and I had to drive my POV to and from the stores.

That little pill made me crazy. I had to keep telling myself, it's the pill man. You REALLY don't feel this way and want to do this stuff!! lmao

Seriously though, it made me feel like I was standing at the edge of insanity, looking over that cliff. I could see it and feel it as real as anything.

But, it's "legal" if you get a Dr. (who are usually all in Pharma's pocket anyways) to sign you up.

I hate pharma. Have I said this yet here? :)
