Right now, I'd like the Striker 955. I think it has more power than the AT-666, and the company is readily accessible. RP made the software available for the AT, but I'd like to see a demo on YouTube of it working. I didn't care for the look of the Magnums.
Mark got my radio yesterday and as I suspected, the supposed CB technician in Brookville, Pennsylvania, "peaked and ruined" it. You can cross Hutton's CB Shop off your list of trustworthy techs.
You know, it wasn't until I bought that Connex from Hutton's CB shop, that I thought about Mark S again. He is one of a VERY few guys, who I have heard on the radio, that sounded like they were sitting in my living room. I caught him on the skip one day back in 2008 while traveling through Hope Hull Alabama. It was like all of a sudden the static cleared and the voice of god came over my radio. I couldn't believe how clear it was. He mentioned the name, Fine Tune CB shop and his handle, which I Googled. I thought, if I ever get through Amarillo, that's the guy who is going to do my radio work. It only took 8 years, lol.
All of his customers sound exactly the same over the airwaves and get the same compliments. After a while we get to recognize each other's voices. The funny thing was when he was in Amarillo he sounded the same when you were sitting in the parking lot as he did when you were crossing the Oklahoma state line a hundred miles to the east.
To be sure, the guy has a booming baritone voice that would probably even sound good over a Kmart walkie-talkie. Lol
