Whenever those things quit working I'll be more than happy to give you 20 bucks a piece for the little tiny Transformer inside

I have them since maybe 15 years and i had one wire problem that's it, hopefully they will last for another 15 years.

I have both the astatic 636 and the RK56 i always have prefer the RK56, but the RK is way louder than my astatic, as far as i know radio has to be properly aligned to use the RK otherwise they don't sound good....that's my experience.

But i surely would like to try the ranger SRA-198.

    Just found a used Telex-Turner RK56 for $43.00.

What'd you guys think of that price?

Found a SRA 198 new for half price.

I have just look at EBAY and i was under the impression that there would more old model available....look like 43.00 might be a fair price especially if the mic is in good shape.

Looks dirty, the other one looks like the look guard was shaved down.

The others that are supposed to be Telex conveniently don't have pictures confirming that.

May just go with the SRA-198.

Did you see the guy selling the RK-56 connected to a RCI-2650? For $150.00 bid?

I think this is a better deal. I have several of these and they sound almost as good as my 602 series microphones. That thing is made out of solid Bakelite and you can drive a truck over it without breaking it.[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

I've been building microphones for the past 15 years. It's really easy to do. If you buy that microphone I will tell you step by step how to wire it up to your radio but keep in mind it will not work on a Cobra 29 but it will work on any export radio and you only need three wires to make it work contrary to what Ridgeline told everyone.
That microphone retailed for about $300 when it was new by the way.
