Sorry dude, I disagree. Mainly because I've been doing the radio thing for 40 plus years and think people like this are not worth the time wasted.
There are a lot of good techs out there are not like this and will do a good if not better job. I've heard all kinds of stories about people like this and worked with many who were worse but it doesn't matter - if they want the buck, they have to be customer centric.
I for one would not tolerate BS like a soup nazi, it is my equipment someone is working on and I want straight answers within a timely manner (called respect) and should not have to chase people all over the place to get work done. You don't return my call, I tell everyone how you treat people, screw up my radio and it gets posted everywhere.
If you ave a reputation of being a soup nazi, then that effects what people see, no matter how good the work is.
As I said I know someone a lot better but I don't refer people to him. He is easy to find, local guy that I trust with my radios, he just finished working on one of my spook radios that had receive issues - found the problem fixed it and then did a complete alignment. I only use him when I don't have time to fix or tune something, OR when it is too complicated for me to fix or need a second opinion when I sell/trade, he always returns my calls or emails within reason and the work is some of the best I've ever seen and I've seen a lot of good work.
The point is a lot of people out there are good techs all over the place and know how to do the work.

What you read, 'meticulous and pride' as favourable, are just niceties to anal retentiveness combined with a self imposed standard that is unattainable <--sad for many of them.
In comparison sure I'd guess the eccentric is a little closer to perfection, but on a scale of a professional is it even measurable?Last edited: Apr 3, 2016

I just want to say a few words a bit off topic; I sensed some tension here, and found the source in another thread. I'm glad to see this morning some thanks being exchanged, and cooler heads... not that anyone was out of place, or crossed any line, just an uncomfortable strain within a group I respect. I applaud you guys, and please continue setting a good example!

I get it ... I'm working on contact information for service. Please Stay TunedTheDude1969 and rabbiporkchop Thank this. -

I hope this contact method works... I have tried to contact Hardrive through Facebook 3 times over the last 3 months with no reply. The 3rd time was Thursday following these instructions to a tee. Still haven't heard from him... How long should I wait before contacting him again. Kind of frustrating . If there is assecret to getting a response please let me know.
darthanubis and rabbiporkchop Thank this. -
Once you've followed the procedure, I'm guessing the secret is patience.
rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
We will see.
darthanubis and rabbiporkchop Thank this. -
I sent him a message back when I was going to buy a radio. I wanted his recommendation of which to buy, preferably from him.
Months after I bought my Stryker off Amazon, he replied
I loved my Hard Drive tuned radios, but contacting him is frustrating.
Just wish I was in his area so I could walk my radio in to be tuned up.Cakeman, darthanubis and rabbiporkchop Thank this.
