Mark had mother nature on his side for a few minutes Wednesday. Heard him loud and clear in central MO around 4:50 pm talking about Paul Harvey and the rest of the story.

Makes me sick to see that....While in tx i could hear a tire shop advertiseing anout 15 mile away and a cb shop in tn anout 10 mile away but they couldnt hear me..
Couldnt find anyone whos brain to pick and go over my set up except for antenna man in houston..We compared mfj units and both were the same BUT alll he tests for was swr..My god no one knows more than swr...Guy in tn who has a shop in a train caboose sez to me,hows swr and lean it 45 deg..I said fine and your nuts..
If i woulda started studing this ant stuff 20 yrs ago i could make a small fortune on the side by now lol..

Well speaking of Mark, antennas and studs and so forth, my Predator just fell off the mount when I opened the door. I should know better now when I hear the static going in and out with turn signal frequency, the antenna is loose.

The stud he sent me is doesn't look stripped, but it doesn't want to tighten up, even by hand. Time to find something a little more heavy duty. A quarter inch stud seems a little too spindly for that antenna.

That's odd. My bastardized oil coil antenna with a ridiculously long shaft, which is a lot heavier than a predator, did fine. Defective unit, maybe?

Is yours mounted to the door? I just had a look at it while I closed the door. It wobbles pretty good.
