    If base antenna, raise the bar to 135 miles at will.

    sold that 497 to a cb shop... didn't care....I did not want that radio in my trk. anymore..

    tried the ole 6 prong ground plane under my antenna. jacked up my swrs I can tell that by flipping the switch on the back of the radio. it's coming off now. so much for that was a waste of $15 ya live and ya learn....

    $150 didn't give a ####. it's get something for it or I use it as a tire chalk or I throw it in a lake.... I bought it on a impulse.... I had one and ran it for a year until someone liked it better than me and stole it...

    You should have told the guy to hook it up to his base antenna so he could witness it's capabilities and limitations. Then after he gets done tweaking it he would understand that his lack of skills result in an 80% decrease in performance.
