has it ever occurred to you even one time that your the one and only person/driver who is getting this magical receive out of a radio....not even drivers who have had mark do his magical receive have claimed to get 10/15 or god forbid a 20 mile range out of their radio... where you live in that area there's a pocket that allows longer receive range. no skip involved.. I know this because 2 or 2 and a half years ago I talked to a driver who was in a four wheeler ..we talked about 35 miles apart from each other he was running a barefoot grant xl and I was running my magnum barefoot... if any drivers on this forum are getting even a 10/20 mile range on this forum not skip. they are not and have not spoke up and said so in the 5-6 months I've been on this forum ???????? makes everybody go hmmmmmmm especially Craig

and the last person I remember questioning your magical receive was breadboy or breadtruck

Notice I said STRONG SIGNAL @ 30 miles.
I used to talk from Santa Monica Ca to Silverlake Ca using one of these about 30 years ago .. total cost $15 on clearance. 9 foot whip on roof btw
Lots of fun in a car. Not so fun in a Cascadia.. -
I have posted on this forum on several occasions about the range of certain radios I have used in my Cascadia. The 1st post was in reference to a Galaxy 99v2 that I had a conservation with Breeze in Plant City fl and I was in Zephyrhills fl roughly 15 miles away. The other post was in reference to a Cobra 29NW LTD ( stock) and I was at Sysco in Palmetto Fl and talked to a friend of mine on his base in Bradenton Fl 12 miles away as measured by my phone. Finally another post I was able to talk to friend in Bradenton Fl, from Cascadia with stock Bearcat 980 10 miles away , once again measured by phone.rabbiporkchop and bored silly Thank this.

I did once question the magical recieve that kept being talked about, and gave advice to a new member what range he could realistically expect, and informed him that members would follow my post and claim 30 miles and told him not to believe it, and I was told by a member at that time that I was unhinged and needed a break. That member bought a fine tune cb and I dont think he was too happy with his purchase and consequently dissapeared from this forum.bored silly Thanks this.

Matter fact Evy who started this thread bought a 98vhp from bells then sent it to harddrive to have it reworked and he dissapeared from this forum soon after, wonder if he was dissapointed with his tune.bored silly Thanks this.

your still the only one claiming this dynamic receive range.. range in a cascadia is the luck of the draw . barefoot no skip.. I talked skip on the magnum no amp Dallas to laurel ms. it was a cb shop there. wherever laurel ms. is never looked it up. but I've heard of it.

Bored, all these events I am referring to occurred before you became a member, so I am not trying to refute your post here, just wanted to give some examples of the subject matter you were posting about.bored silly Thanks this.

Mike and Volvo244t also have had pretty good sucess with the range they achieved out of their Cascadias.

I told Craig long ago to go with a 7' Firestik. He's a stubborn fella though. Think I read somewhere that he finally bought a couple...
I have noise issues in this current truck screwing up my range... whenever the qualcomm kicks on, it puts 3-5 S units of garbage noise into my receive. Never had that problem in the truck at Crete. *sigh* maybe I just need to buy my own...
