Oh yes they do have a 'say' in what you get. They are suppose to tell planners your hrs, and if it's time to go home. If you have any underlaying problems with your dispatcher, they can make life hell for you, yet tell you , of the frieght base is down.
I fired the ##### witch the other day, got a differant dispatcher :) And so far he has listen to me, and even surprisd me by offering to swap my load with that would of gotton me home sooner, but i couldn;t make the del date on time..

    rachi Thanks this.

there were a few of us out having a smoke , with our back turned to the street, all we heard was BOOOM! Saw the trailer bouncing after it landed back on the street.Driver kept going like nothing had happened.
Then on early Friday am, after i had returned from my earlu del,(0200) i was back in the yrd, got lucky with a street view parking spot, watched anther tk pull out of the gate, do a full u turn out on the street, come back into the yrd.
Sad thing here, it was a Columbia, and there is enough room in front of the office to do a u turn. Been there done it.

That looks like something the government wrote! Is that in the new Obuma health bill?! :biggrin_25524:

Nah the government's more verbose than anything. They aren't subject to any cost per character as far as I'm aware. Hey wait a minute, that gives me an idea! They should have to refund to the taxpayer 2 cents on the dollar for every single alphanumeric character they publish! :biggrin_25514:

You need to find another friend. Have you not read everything here about Marten and how much they are sucking.

    Lets see how great

Can't get home on Time any more,Gone is the garunteed home time pay.
You have to fight tooth and nail fOR detention, or washouts.
Family emergencies, forget, they may tryo to route you in that direction
    FORCED PERDEIM
ORT runs going byby, i barely saw 1600 miles last week

Vetern drivers who have been here 10 years or more getting treated like ####. Yet new hires get what they want. IE regioanl jobs.
More loads going on rail, and those otr trucks, once they come out of the house and get stuck in some other region, get stuck doing rail loads of no more than 300-400 miles.
Maintinace shops that takes 4 days to fix flats, no matter if your under a load. 1-2 days to do a pm on trucks, and thats after you sent your serv appoinment req 4 days earlier.
Drivers lounges(not including mondovi of atlanta, ontario, Indy) no showers, or drivers lounge, no mircorwave. Irving, Phoenix.
Just a few things that make Marten great NOT!

Looks more like fast typing than bad spelling.

Oh, and also: Offense, not offence...if you're spelling with U.S. English.

I agree with both observations. Sure Skibum's writing ain't always the best, but I've met him and can assure everyone here that he knows what he's talking about and isn't embellishing the truth like his employer Marten does. I drove OTR for Marten for over 10 years until June this year. These days you definitely don't want to hire with them if you can help it. The last thing you want to do is take everything they tell you at face value (because they lie).

And you have a problem with typos?
I'm sorry that you can't read typos , or grasp the concept of what they mean.
