Marten Transport (19 month review)

Company is fitting dash cams in all of its tractors. They’re outward facing only and they only record video-no audio. They put one in the truck I’m taking to the Jurupa Valley terminal,my truck is parked at Mondovi but when I return there the chief technician said my truck will have one retrofitted.

 

Back in Mondovi. Got another tractor to run to Jurupa Valley. Sure enough, I looked in my truck-they retrofitted a camera in mine. Had to fly from Ontario to Phoenix and from Phoenix to Minneapolis/St. Paul. Knees were cramped on the Phoenix to MSP flight (American Airlines must think only midgets fly on their Boeing 737 planes-longest 3 hours of my life). The regional jet flight from Ontario to Phoenix actually had more legroom.

 

I’m getting $200 layover pay for flying from CA to WI. Plus the miles for running the load from Rochester,Minnesota to Ontario,California (approximately 2000 miles).Plus rescuing a Walmart load at the Jurupa Valley terminal that had to be delivered the same day in Riverside.

 

Correction:Make that $500 layover pay!!
