Marten is a regional company. OTR is there, but it's better to be regional. You can travel regions like an OTR, but home time is concrete and if you wanna go home they will do their best to make it happen when you say so. I used to work strictly Monday-Friday with an occasional early sat morning delivery in my city so I'm still home Friday, just got to get up and make an early delivery. That was all fine because I'd rip them off for detention anyways lol.

I’m in California right now. Dropped off in Modesto after driving from Ogden,Utah. My next pickup is in Santa Rosa and that’s going to Wilmington,Illinois-and it ain’t going intermodal!!! All 2100+ miles will be handled by yours truly!
A lot of stuff usually goes to the West Coast via intermodal but once in a blue moon OTR drivers like myself will get a long run if intermodal isn’t feasible. The load I took to Salt Lake City,Utah I picked up originated in Mooresville,Indiana-a good 1700 miles as the crow flies. And a short hop up to Ogden got me the load to California.Upinsmoke Thanks this. -

I know how to run my truck.
I know how to manage my clock.
Run nights.
Avoid sitting in traffic and searching for parking.
Doesn't really matter if I can run my truck, if I'm on short runs with live loads at each end. -
How fast can I roll without throwing myself into drive mode?
