Well, not foreigners. Careful or this thread too will be cut. It's just travel, that's all. Years ago, when we never left the county, we'd see sick Asians with masks, or dying Africans, and it didn't concern us, we never saw those people anyway. But today, global travel is the norm, and now I read, they think the 1st person to transmit this was French. Doesn't matter, too late now, and as soon as air travel resumes, it's going to be something else.
Masks?

This is the truth. It is not a slander. If we were the cause of the virus then we would be foreigners in Europe, Asia, etc. This started in China and spread through Europe, due to lack of medical facilities. Italy was hit the hardest. So if we have to isolate ourselves from even eating out, etc., then it's not prejudicial to restrict people from coming into the country. We have a huge problem on our hands as it is. We can't take the overload of other people coming in. When Flu season hits in November this could get MUCH worse. Trump is just being proactive until we get a vaccine or a handle on the way to treat this virus.201 Thanks this.

But, it was Americans returning to the usa that brought the virus here. In order to avoid that, you would have to stop all Americans from international travel out of the usa....is that a solution that rich folks would abide by?joshuapowell61 Thanks this.
-
They are already abiding by it. There is no proof American's brought it back from other countries. We have 1000's of foreign visitors (or did).

I saw a utility worker north of Victorville, CA along side I-15 in the desert with no other human in the vicinity, and he was wearing a mask. Go figure. I guess he was in the grip of fear.MACK E-6, tommymonza, Brettj3876 and 1 other person Thank this.

or perhaps company mandates it during all working hours. Don't get me wrong I think people driving down the road alone in their car wearing it is a bit much. I take mine off when I am in the car...etc. Only put it on when I go into stores.
However, some people say it reminds them to not touch their face. So if by chance they'd not cleaned their hands from pumping gas or something. That'd keep them from infecting themselves till they could clean up.Pumpkin Oval Head Thanks this. -
And I heard the first case was in Miami during the Super Bowl. Depends on what you believe.
-
honestly we're probably years away from knowing the first case. As right now they've found a few that had it early to mid december. But with antibodies testing and some infectious disease places storing blood samples for 2 years. We'll be able in time to check all of them.
Brettj3876 and Rubber duck kw Thank this. -
This is simply not true. CV respiratory droplets can be inhaled as much as 3 hours after an infected person exhaled them into the air. In close quarters it is airborne until the droplet finally reaches the ground where it can attach to your shoes.
read below from linked cdc website where it specifically says "inhalation" within close proximity- droplets have travelled 13-20 feet in recent studies.
Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)
Mode of transmission: Current data suggest person-to-person transmission most commonly happens during close exposure to a person infected with the virus that causes COVID-19, primarily via respiratory droplets produced when the infected person speaks, coughs, or sneezes. Droplets can land in the mouths, noses, or eyes of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs of those within close proximity.
