I've already heard reports of Peoplenet's ELD causing trouble. And that's just a software upgrade (or downgrade, however you want to look at it).
Then there is, I think, Old Dominion that just got a 90 day exemption as their software conversion to ELD is borked. Could have been Peoplenet, could have been another company. Articles I read didn't say.
So yes, we are already seeing issues at least some companies doing the AOBR thing for the last decade having issues with ELD.

Very true, and it will also be interesting to see how law enforcement deals with it as well. As mentioned in a different thread about the ELD mandate, I went through a level 2 inspection the other day and the trooper was clearly frustrated with the fact that my device wasn't working properly but I didn't receive any violations. The evolution of the ELD mandate is clearly still in progress...

Latest EROAD adventure, it doesn't like 8 and 2 splits, so I drive anyway, complete the 2, and then all is right with the world again.
The grid looks fine, too. 2nd time it's done this. -
Does anyone have a JJ Keller device that's recording an accurate number of miles traveled each day?
Our JJK units are far from accurate and nobody at that company seems to be able to fix it... and miles traveled is one of the things that certain state troopers like to review during a roadside inspection. Not good! -
I'll have to remember to check my daily mileage on mine, I do know however that every couple of weeks it'll ask me to verify my mileage and the number keller shows is ALWAYS 25-50 miles LESS than what my odometer shows, so it would be reasonable to assume the daily mileage is indeed incorrect.
Ours haven't been submitting our logs upon log out unless we log back in to check our hours and submit them that way for weeks now. Keller claimed our phones were the issue so one of our drivers received a new phone from our company and surprise still can't submit without doing it through the back door... Keller's tech support is good for getting some extra time on the payroll clock though. The last time I called them it got me an extra 35 minutes of pay
Moving Forward Thanks this. -
Whoever told you the entire fleet must switch to eld at once is a freaking idiot. The carrier I'm leased to has been rolling over a few at a time since December.Sublime Thanks this.

That is an understatement. Our company (250 trucks)had to ditch the entire JJ Keller Mobile system after they could not come close to getting it running. Incompetent doesn't begin to describe the people there and the folks who designed it. We now have ERoad and it is performing flawlessly.

I can count on one hand how many times i have had problems with my jj keller.Moving Forward Thanks this.

Indeed, I can thank those Keller reps for several extra hours of time on the payroll clock! Please do check to see if it's recording your daily miles traveled accurately, as our has consistently been waaaaaay higher than what it really was based on what the odometer reported... but JJK still hasn't been able to fix it despite numerous calls into them. Please let me know what you find out.

That's good to hear, so I assume you haven't had any problems with the daily mileage reports?
