    We'll not sure how long it took, been driving a while know, but when I came yo my current employer and had to do a test drive, the guy that took me sigh's and says, finally! Some who can shift

    There's always a truck that you aren't familiar with. Shifting a abused trans. can be frustrating at best. So @ 30+ years I have not mastered every trans. out there.

    I've shifted a few abused transmissions... The one in my Columbia, the trainer trucks at SNI and my school, and I'm pretty sure that international I had while my truck was in the shop...

    In my opinion, abused transmissions work the best for learning to shift. They will jerk you halfway to hell and back if you don't learn right...

    To me, mastering shifting means I can shift gears with a minimum of grinding and not grinding gears 50% of the time. That is where I was at with 25,000 miles. Auto shifters do not grind the gears at all....I am not there yet.
