I'm srry but I can't see getting "cited" for a mattress that's not the proper length. Never heard of that b4. What would be the reasoning? Feet hanging off bed, there for they are "Fatigued" Lol

if you are a student.. and you are gonna go out with a trainer then you are pretty much stuck with the matress they have on their truck...
When you are rolling team, the trainers has his bunk (the bottom) set up.. you just have to throw your sleeping over his/her stuff ... you won't be changing matress from theirs to yours...

also, there really isn't a lot of room in those trucks and bunks.. often when you are training you and all your stuff is on the top bunk... so, the more you bring the less room your have to stretch your legs or have any room...

When you complete training and get your own truck then yiou can figure out what matress and cool things you gotta have.. for some it is a microwave, others a t.v...

For me, I keep it simple and roomy.. luch box cooker, couple coolers, a good CB, XM radio, a quality Rand McNally GPS, Atlas, and a good smart phone....

What I have found is that when I am tired I can sleep on a bed of rocks... For me, if it comes down to where my money goes.. i put it in the things that make rolling along easier.. good GPS, Smart Phone and XM Radio.. (not just for music.. get good weather info too) and a good CB..

Now, my trainer told me that tomorrow when I pick up my truck.. to ask for a new matress and I will get one... so, no need to spend my money on a matress.. a new matress and cover is good enough for me...

I am pretty sure that a water bed mattress would put you over weight but the 70's were the time to be young and in love. :biggrin_2555:

+1 on the air mattress. I've been sleeping on a coleman inflatable for over 10 yrs. I pump it up so it's pretty firm and it's great for my back. I usually end up replacing it every 4-6 months or so. I use a mattress pad in the winter to retain heat, and do without in the summer to stay cool.

Side bonus for drivers would be the weight savings. What does a conventional mattress weigh? Going to the air mattress must save 60-70lbs or so.

Very personal decision. I went to the Louisville Truck show in 2010 just to try out all the mattresses there. Individual coil spring was for me

Even bought one for the house it was so good.
