Well, I passed my DOT physical and got the phone call from workforce this morning that my file has been officially approved. So, I start at Grayson County Community College on Monday morning. Now to find a good company to start off with that hires out of North Texas.
Looking forward to getting out of the house and getting the process started!

A few setbacks but nothing that won't have me back on the road soon (APU blew a crank, new motor coming Monday, Iphone broke
, replacement parts also coming Monday). Sucks to be me this past month, but hey... I guess it was my turn

Tex. I got a few pre-hires and looks like I'll be starting school in a couple weeks. I ran into a new publication that will help you find a company to start driving for, as well has good articles to read. One advertiser is company I hadn't heard of- H.O. Wolding. They seem to be sincere about having "excellent home time ", premium BCSC benefits, and pay practical time. Their website is howemployment.com / www.facebook.com/howolding.
Con-way's ad featured Larry Clayman- an over 50 driver who likes "getting home for supper".
The magazine website is www.studentdriversplacement.com.Vegasdude and Truckernurse Thank this. -

Hey Mature Newbie.I want to tell you good luck in your new endevor.
At 50 , a person has lived awhile and has developed a good sense and responsibility to the things that are most important to them, like home, family, work and so on. Its like "I have to work to pay my bills and support my family, But I dont want to be gone for days or weeks at a time, because I need to be home doing what I love"
These days with the younger crowd, its either they want to get a good job and be on top from the get go, unfortunately the older people have actually been there and learned their lesson, that you have to work your way up from the bottom of the deck like the rest of us commoners. You cant have it all that soon. It takes years and years of dedication and hard work to be a successful person. Theres no short cuts unless tour related to Bill Gates or Donald Trump.
Sooooo, Cheers to all of the mature newbies...Happy Trails my friend, and happy New career!!
Ya know, Smiling is contagious, so pass one on....Thanks, Bradsmom60Gears Thanks this. -
