other companies have talked to maverick directly, and only consider one of these to be an accident....so your incorrect in you statement. just because you say it is so, doesn't make it so. that would be why it's best to just let people read and learn.....and draw their own conclusions. I'm afraid your gonna have to live with the post, I'm not changing it, nor am I pulling it.

That's right Faber, that was an excellant analagy and should give someone with little exp. a good insight into our industry. Wish it weren't that way but it is.
-
Faber, I have to ask. You say that you think Maverick did you wrong in the way they reported what you did on your DAC. So tell me, If you where in there shoes and had a driver who did what you did. How would you have reported on there DAC? Remember the driver was let go and a reson has to be given.
-
Well, I guess if we're gonna push this, then here we go;
I've already stated that they could have let me go simply on what I did and marked it on my DAC as what it was. Put "bent tarp box door" instead of "angle collision," since bending a tarp box door is what happened. At least do me the respect of saying "satisfactory" instead of "other"....which looks like ####-after I ran my ### off for you. Or ruling say the one headache rack as "preventable" when in my opionion it wasn't. It was their incorrect driver directions that led me around a blind corner and into an area that I coulld NOT safely back out of. When told it was preventalbe, I responded, I sent you the right directions, told you I couldn't back out....how would you suggest I get out...."I wasn't there was the response." Non the less, I'll take the blaim.
Their own safety high-up told me it's the first company he works for that classifies everything as an accident. Well some of you will say incident accident = same thing. No it's not....a accident in volves damage to others property, police, insurance claims, posible injury, serious damage to company property. Sorry, a 4 bolt remove/replace bumper skin is NOT an accident. And the last accident occured in June, I was "let go" in oct.....it was a driver cut back and the way they went about it is sicking. -I hope they didn't make every driver they cut look as bad as they did me.
-I would suggest using the truth, that's what I would suggest.
-I would suggest not classifing everything as an accident.
-I would suggest a safety point system that does not classify a scraped bumper as worth 1 point less then a man who totals a $15,000 trailer and risks inoccent lives.
--I would propose that in my opionion they are a company that used to not hire rookies and decided to do so. Then relized they can move freight cheaper that way. That they escalate the seriousness of minor offenses and use that to do their will. For example; fire drivers that chose to run legally. (see daytona's thread- "had to start somewhere") or in cases like mine where the driver runs his ### off as a dumb rookie, illegal as ####, to keep their mouths shut and make $ off him, getting him in and getting points off. Then when necessary, to make cuts. You cannot function in their point system without getting dinged, that include their "best" like notarps let alone the rookies they want to hire. And I'm NOT the first to say that. I've had other drivers tell me they quit because of that system.
I find it odd that I'm listed as not rehirable when the one contact I had with that company wanted me back on his board. Again, simply putting what happened would have been sufficient. I've already stated much of this, why do you insist on making me repeat myself?
Or even better yet, here's a reason, the economy sucks, we're going into the slow season, and had to make a cut....so we cut the guys with points. -
It doesn't matter to me what you do with the post. I was only saying the reason people are responding to you negatively is because you had the incidents not your former company.
-
I am not incorrect in my statement. I am saying mav was your first co. You had 5 incidents or accidents however you look at it. You will not hire on anywhere and get 5 incidents and keep a job with any co. Another co might overlook what you done in the past, but you go there and have repeated incidents and you won't be working there long either. I do not know of anyone that would keep you after 3; lone enough 5. My point is if you started with TMC your thread would be my My DAC and TMC under bad companies to work for. The company does not hit things with a truck the driver is the one that does that. Doesn't matter what you hit. If it does damage to your unit it is an accident. An incident is a polite way to say you did something wrong that did damage. You seem to think that doing damage to your trailer is not an accident if you don't damage other property.
That is an accident unless you planned to hit something? That is why they are called accidents. Damage is done that you did not plan on doing= accident.Faber and doubledragon5 Thank this. -
This alone is why you PULL OVER SHUT AND GET REST. Now what if these (incidents) as you say were something much worse, and you caused serious damage and injury to someone else! What would your excuse be then? Oops I was tired and fatiqued, so technially it wasn't my fault. I can see why no one will hire you, I wouldn't either. You are a risk to your self, others, and other people property. Best bet look for another career, as it stands right now you SOL IMO as far as driving for another company for a long time...
-
what if? they didnt. and i never used that as an excuse....i used it as a warning to rookies. DID YOU READ THE POST? I'll move on from my lessons, try to not make them again, and try to help rookies not make them either.....hence part of the reason for the post. And ILL TAKE MY CAREER ADVICE elsewhere. Something tell me if I can run that hard and not have a real accident, I'll do just fine with sleep.
-
Read the whole thing, and personally I would not have even posted that part of the message....
Try? If you ever want to drive again you need to do more than try.
You should have done this a long time ago. Did they not tell you this in orientation, or even school. When tired pull over and rest, do not endanger yourself or other people around you..Last edited: Dec 31, 2008

incident/acciddent, i still stand my ground it's a ###### point system with bad motives. and they can simply say what happened on the DAC.
