Maverick deer hunters thread

18 wheeler works pretty good. I hope none of us hunt with that weapon though.

 

I like hunting with both, but I prefer the bow better. There is hardly anyone else out there with you and the deer are not spooked. If you have eliminated your scent, they will walk right up on you. It is such a rush to rattle them and use your grunt call to get them to come in. You can see the puzzled look on their face when they do not see the doe or buck that they just heard and know it should be right there. I have missed before with a bow and was able to take another shot because they were not spooked.
When it comes to gun season in ohio, I use my in line muzzle loader. .50 cal and I can reach out and touch them at 200 yards with no problem...

Just too many people out there during gun season, even on your own land they can be a problem...which I have found out.

 

I have had them come up on my just on the next property and set down. This has always been during gun season. Also the bow season is so much longer!

Cooked some deer in the pressure cooker tonight....excellent. When my wife was cleaning out the cooker, she found some of the bullet. I have no idea how it got there since I was sure it was a double lung shot....go figure.
