So I just read over the MMS message about the new bonus system. It seems like a reasonable system. It is a little more complicated than just getting good MPG, but none of the numbers they have in there are ridiculously hard to hit.

I've had work done in all of them and if I had to choose one I'd go with Madison.

Heres the way I look at it. Of all the numbers they are grading us on I have only made a effort on MPG. That being said, I'm in the .05 category. So basically keep on doing what I've been doing and they will give me another .03 per mile. That's about $3,300 per year!

Are you going by the example they sent or did you look at your score card and figure it out?

I think it is a well thought out and very fair system.

The truth will be in the pudding and i dont hold high hopes but hope they prove me wrong. I drove for a carrier who implented this system and suddenly no one could get a bonus. Too many ways to ding ya. Like a "dirty" truck. No this wasnt tmc lol. Maverick will be using truck cleanliness as a ding according to our DOY

Well, I know this....now that most of the fleet is 2010 or newer, everyone should be getting at least the minimum MPG to get a fuel bonus. What'd they pay out last quarter? Something like 200K to the whole fleet? 200k • 4 = alot of money gone in bonuses. Like you said Dan, probably won't work out in the drivers favor end the end....I hope that is not true. But I just can't see ANY company wanting to make that number higher. I also hope that the performance based bonus will do as planned and reward the "top performers" for their hard work. But, as mentioned before, the more criteria that is added to the list the harder it will be to make par....

Maverick is in the business to make money, period! As any business is. They key ingredient to make Maverick Pie is the driver. Without good drivers Maverick Pie won't sell and Suzy has to shut down the bakery.

There is a national shortage of drivers that is predicted to get much worse before it gets better. It's simple supply and demand. Maverick (and all carriers) have to pay more to attract and retain this key ingredient or shut down the bakery

The new PFP program will not change the current fuel bonus program, only enhance it. And don't get all up in arms abou how much Maverick is "paying out" in fuel bonuses. They are actually making money on the program (as they should). If you save .5 mpg (base line 6.5 mpg @ $4.00 / gal) that's 5 cents per mile savings to Maverick. Now take that same 5 cents and multiply by the average number of miles driven per year (110,000) and you will have $5,500 savings to Maverick.

So to recap, if a driver gets 7 mpg all year the company saves $5,500 and basically splits it with the driver. Now to make it even more attractive to the drive they have made additional ways for a driver to get the other half of that Maverick pie!

All in all I think this is a great step forword for drivers. More money without having to drive more miles. What's not to like about that?

I agree with seawheeler. It would be insane for maverick to do anything to.drive away the good drivers. They are not stupid. I think this will.be a good thing. If a driver leaves a trailer a mess, he should get dinged. If he does not take care of his equipment, he should get dinged. If he tears stuff up he should get dinged. If you "an not deliver on time you shod.get dinged...just my humble opinion!

I agree with Jim and Seawheeler. I have always said OOR should figure into the fuel bonus. Now it does. We've talked to some drivers that were never concerned about OOR and their's was pretty high but they were bragging about good fuel bonuses. The new system makes for a well rounded trucker.:yes2557:
