Dont get me wrong i like maverick a lot but im not naive about things. As for it would be stupid to run off experienced drivers,i agree however changes maverick has made in the past has done just that. Just a few years ago there was a large exodus of senior drivers who had been here for awhile. I cant remember what the deal was now. However newb drivers cost less so keep that in mind. It doesnt affect me anyway,i just hate to see the company i love turned into just another schneider. Since the person from schneider was brought on board that has been the direction they have been heading. Like cutting my percentage because it was too generous compared to other companies. Ok done ranting :)

I finally got the MMS about the new system today...I feel a little better about it. Thing is I'm one of those people that find what works and keeps it. That being said....sometimes change is good

I think it might be alot better. And I have thought about how they run the top pay drivers off, not liking that to much. Makes me think about were im going to be at in a few months or this winter. I hate the though of me putting alot into something and then get thrown away were there done with me im not some butty call. It makes me made thinking about how companies do that to drivers. Its sad that is whats wrong with the world today its all about money. God help us all

Cut your percentage? WTH??? Like you said, the PFP doesn't affect you but as an IC isn't most/all of what you do PFP in a way? Hammer down where ever you go = more fuel and maintenance cost, don't fix minor problems eventually turn into MAJOR repairs, etc. We haven't met but I always make it a point to talk with the IC drivers when I get a chance to see how things are going for them. Seems from what I've gathered, just like company drivers, some ICs do better than others. The business minded ICs I'd say are the "top performers" wouldn't you?

Lease % is 72% of linehaul and 100% of fuel surcharge. It used to be 77% but i guess since we were one of a handful of carriers paying more than 72% that was changed. It was all explaijed as something beneficial to us because we didnt have to pay $140 trailer rental after the change but i lose money in comparison. They also decided to start taking a percentage of our stop pay. So anytime maverick says its good for you,you can bet its better for them. I think steve should be more hands on like when i first joined maverick. It was really driver oriented then. Steve made us a priority. When he kinda stepped back to play politics, thats when company profits started increasing at the expense of driver benefits. Oh well. Maverick is still top notch compared to many. My way of thinkin though is why lower standards/pay just because you're too far ahead of the pack?

Sarge you may be right on the elogs, timing seems about right. That was essentially a pay cut also. Average miles fell. I can remember steve saying there wouldnt ever be "black boxes" aka elogs in a maverick truck unless forced by the government, yet here we are with them.
