I got out to Charlotte Pipe in Monroe Thursday evening to pick up my load with about 3 hours left. I knew I was spending the night there. I have family in the area, so after swapping equipment over and strapping some of it, I called them and they came and got me and we went out to eat. They dropped me off back out there around 11. I had to have a forklift driver come lift up some of the pvc so I could get some gut straps thru. I finished that and went to bed. I got up in the am, and started the pre trip. Should have checked the lights last night!! 1 marker on the drivers side out, all markers on the passenger side out!! FML!!! Drove around the block to the Wilco Hess and did the breakdown. After re-wireing some of the trailer do to corroded wires and connections, I was on my way home....3 1/2 hours later! I sent a message to my FM about it. Who ever had this trailer before me had to know about it. Wires don't corrode that bad over night!!!

I feel for you. Those load and reload in the same days do get old after a while!jxu417 Thanks this.

Unload, Reload, Unload, Reload some days, and occasionally throw in an additional unload if things go smoothly enough. Yep, alot of days are really like that. And all our loads are tarped, no exceptions. I guess tho, if ya count Sundays, those days are just driving thank goodness LOL! Maybe I should stop ######*n'. I sound like I am upset, and I am not upset.

Did you get a wright up scheduled for your trailer. The problem guys come in for a service and while I'm here hears a whole list of other things that need to be fixed. If you need more than just a service that you need to have a wright up scheduled for the other problems.
The gary shop is our best in my opinion. If you were unhappy and they did a bad job let Greg know he's the manager he's there on days.
Windshields have to be scheduled a day or two ahead of time. -
Not to sound like some company cheerleader. Ran my scorecard in my performance bonus would be four cents that's one penny more than just fuel bonus. And right now my fuel mileage is down quite a bit from my average.
If I had a dollar for every time in my 30+ years of driving. I had to hear about their giving all the freight to the new drivers because there's so much cheaper. I would be retired.
Most new drivers cost the company more than a difference in pay by making newbie mistakes.
The new performance-based pay bonuses. I do believe are a great addition to the great base pay we have now. If you cannot achieve a nice performance-based pay bonus. Then I will say you are a truck driver and not a professional driver. If I have to explain the difference to you you would never understand.JimTheHut, sarge26044, jxu417 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Weren't me...I dropped a brand new 2013 there last week. Picked up a 2005 with a marker light out.

Sewerman,
You asked me why I preferred MSO (CNH?) division...and I answered you, but the quote above is another reason...I keep the same trailer all the time, I know every little thing about it and where to look when something doesn't work, if something tears up...I fix it myself if its something simple or I get it fixed...I never cared much for being at the mercy of others, especially not when it wastes my time and costs me $$$.
Pretty much the worst idea ever introduced in trucking...preloaded flatbeds...IIRC, we discussed that a little bit too.sarge26044, sewerman and jxu417 Thank this. -
I couldn't agree with you more. I definitely hate a trailer swap. I would rather spend six hours live loading then getting a preload.
Enjoy your home time.sarge26044 Thanks this. -
true dat! I hate trailer swaps!
sarge26044 Thanks this.
