I just watched the video and it is really good and very informative.

Why I hate to do re-powers and swaps. Swap load with a guy to get him home had a 2013 trailer. It had an audible air leak and the ABS brake light was on. Plus put on 20 patches on the tarps. And when I talked patching tarps I'm only talking between the drops. There again his time is too valuable to stop to fix anything but mine isn't.
Next swap did that one the get him home for vacation time. Which hung me out out for the weekend. He had seven beveled boards and only one square board. One junk chain I call it junk because it's a hardware store chain. And three chains that were about 10 to 12 feet long. Everything on the trailer worked in the tires were good. Only ended up putting on six patches on the tarps.
Repower load out of Madison. The mudflap bracket on the trailer is cracked all the way across hanging on by about 2 inches and one light out. Five hours later trailer repaired and down the road I go. There again his time is a lot more valuable than mine.
And people ask me why I don't like to do a swap a repower somebody else's load. Maybe my professional standards are too high. Or is everybody else's work ethics that low?
Gentleman is it that hard to maintain your equipment and tarps I think not but these are the experiences I have over and over again.
All that happened in the last two and half weeks. If they asked me to do a swap or a repower again will I do it yes. Because I have come to the point that fixing trailers and patching tarps is my second job. I wish maverick would fine these idiots $10 an hour to reimburse me for my time to straighten out their problems. Like I said my time is not that valuable LOL that's why I'm only asking for 10 an hour and not 25.
Maybe with the new system they're coming out with it will help to relieve some of the problem. But a rule or a procedure only works when it's enforced and has consequences when you don't.
Don't get me wrong . Maverick has some of the best equipment on the road today. That is why I work here and stay here. But like with all equipment it needs to be maintain. And some people are not willing to take care of their equipment or stop to get it repaired.
Well I'm done with my rant.Last edited: Mar 8, 2013

I feel your points and complaints are very valid. Sometimes, you just need to get it off your chest.

This freight situation is really wearin on my nerves! Tired of go here and wait because we dont have loads!! I shoulda had a load this morning since i emptied yesterday! Instead i dont get loaded til 3pm. Great!! Anothee lousy weekend on top of missing the house to sit empty last weekend in waco,tx. I understand Mav wanting to be ready for freight when it "picks up" (according to two csr's it has picked up,um,yeah uh huh) but putting your seasoned drivers out of work so you can hire drivers you dont have freight for is just wrong imho!

Im having 2007 flashbacks

That is b.s if there is no freight and everything is slow why keep hiring new drivers?!?!? Something isn't right, my miles are getting shorter and in getting hung out more. If the miles were there than hang me out but when you get 1100 miles including the 800 weekend.....not good not good

DMC (Digital Media Coordinator), or "Run DMC" as I now call her, said ok a serious picture aaaaaaaaaaaand the joker in me took over so I whispered the above question to Chris and we both got a case of the giggles afterwards.
