I was in Fort Smith thursday night and friday morning and its getting to the point that I think Maverick needs to start training the new drivers how to park there. I swear Ive never seen it as bad as it was this time. Trucks spaced too far apart and pulled too far forward grrrr

I really wish I had a time machine so I could fast forward to May. I am beyond ready to leave my company and be on my way to NLR to pull a skateboard. Although it seems like yall have some "unfriendly" drivers. I have tried to talk to 5 maverick drivers in the past 2 days and none would answer me on the CB. All I wanted to ask was how they liked the company.

That's not surprising, given the amount of crap floating around on the CB nowadays. Most drivers I know don't even keep it on, especially since the factory CB antennas suck and we're not allowed to add our own. I know that some drivers do, but the NLR shop told me face-to-face the other day that if they see a non-factory antenna on a company truck, they will remove it. They also said that removing your passenger seat is strictly against the rules and they're gonna start cracking down on that too, I've seen several drivers doing that as well.

But anyways, try talking to one at a truck stop, you'll get a much friendlier response. You're likely to find us at Pilots and Flying J's, since those are our fuel stops. Just don't knock on their door unless you see them sitting in the driver's seat, they hate being disturbed in the sleeper, as most drivers do.

Well that sucks. I was hoping to put my K40 on there and I read somewhere that if you ask the shop first and get the required material, they will ok it as long as they install it and it doesn't require any drilling/modifications to the truck. Either way, its not a big deal. And the passenger seat, my wife will be riding with me some so it will stay in its place.

As for truck stops, I'm a local guy running 2 or 3 loads a day so the only time I get into truck stops is when I feel the need for some subway at the 165 pilot in Lincoln, AL. And our loads are extremely time sensitive so I wouldn't have the time to sit and chat. It just seemed odd to me that all of yall on this forum are so nice/friendly and so far, every Maverick driver I have tried to talk to will not respond. And I know most of yall run slower (60 - 62mph). My truck runs 64mph and all of these guys were coming by me like I was sitting still. Apparently since the new PFP system doesn't rely a whole lot on mpg, these guys just said "screw it".

Um 10yrs with Maverick and I keep hearing this factory antenna rule rumor lol. Its just that, rumor. You MUST use the factory antenna mounts but the antenna is your choice. Heres the thing though, you cant just slap any ol antenna up there since the factory mounts are now located near the top of the cab. Now you must be mindful of the 13'6" height limit.

There is no way my antenna will mount on the factory mounts. I can't recall the thread or website but they make an antenna mount specifically for the cascadia (because there is no mirror brace at the top) where you can mount an antenna. Basically, you unbolt the mirror, slide the mounting bracket between the door and mirror, and bolt the mirror back up. From what I remember, this guy said he talked to the shop and they said that if he bought it, the shop would have to install it and he could mount his antenna on it but he would have to leave the stock antennas on the truck. Not sure how true it is but I will talk to the shop before I do anything.

Here is the link to the mount.

Three different mechanics in the NLR shop told me word for word "If we notice an aftermarket antenna on the truck, we will remove it." Of course, the key word here is "if we notice". They also mentioned that they tend to notice less when it comes to drivers who aren't jerks to them when they come in. So if you're nice to the shop guys, they probably don't say too much when it's small stuff like that. But I know I've seen them remove antennas before. I suppose you can get away with having one that looks similar to the factory one, but I know they'll remove any antenna that has a "bulge" on it, and they said they will instantly remove any "whip" antennas, whatever that means lol.

By the way they were talking, Maverick is getting ready to crack down on drivers who are doing things they aren't supposed to, like removing the passenger seats, or having refrigerators that partially block the view out of the passenger side window.

Ive seen that before, a lot of guys use it to mount the satellite radio antennas too. During my talks with the shop guys, they also said those were not allowed.

By the way, I'm just telling you guys what they said in the NLR shop. Since they are the ones who actually work on the trucks, I'm sure they know what Maverick does and doesn't allow, and they probably can remove any of that stuff if they want to. There may be times when they don't have the time or don't care about something minor like that, but just be aware that you are technically breaking the rules and they could bite you with it at any time.
