I still have the bills for every single load I've done. I'll probably do what my trainer told me to: keep them for a year. You never know when something like that might come in handy...

In this case, you might've been impressed with my skills when getting into the dock at that tiny little scrapyard in Toronto that we pick up from when we're up there.

Imagine pulling into a lot that is about the total size of a large gas station, with a huge building in the middle. Head onto a scale with less than one inch clearance between the poles on each side. Then pull off that scale and parallel park next to it on the right side to wait in line. The parking area is exactly the same width as the truck. Poles on one side, trees on the other.

Once called, imagine circling all the way around the building counterclockwise, with less than two feet of clearance on each side of your trailer, and stopping while they move scrap metal out of your way when turning around each corner of the building.

At the final corner, you turn left around the building and the dock is directly behind you, indoors, downhill enough that your landing gear hits the concrete, and the door is exactly 109" wide (for those who don't know our TCD trucks are 108") forcing you to scrape your mirrors as you back in.

Try that in a flatbed with spread axles... I doubt it's even possible.

Yeah, doubt it. Doesn't sound like it would be a good idea to even try with a spread. Sounds like you really enjoy the experience up there tho Captain! LOL.

Your not a dumb ### unless you choose to not practice your backing whenever possible. I'd suggest going to the party row (back row) of the truck stops whenever you have to go in for something and park in a spot then before you go into the truckstop to get whatever, do a cross over maneuver and move the truck into the open spot next to it. Truck drivers are inherently lazy and the spots closest to the building will always be the first ones filled. . . "there's always something going on on the party row." lol

The hotel invoices when the instructors use a hotel to put their students up for the weekend are supposed to be kept for 6 mos after being transflowed and ff msg sent with conf # of said transflo.

Also, the next thing you do after you turn on your 4 ways indicating you are going to back up........TURN OFF THE CB!!! GOAL--Get Out And Look. Don't trust the booger eating moron telling you, "come on back youre good youre good".....BAM!!!" or the homeless appearing folks that will "spot" for you either. Trust what you see with your own eyes, up close and personal, not even what you think you see in your mirrors. Its better to know you have enough room than to "think" you have enough room
