    jxu417,

I got your PM, but couldn't reply...it says your inbox is full.

Yep...that was me on I64 the other day...had the CB on as always, but also had the music on...I didn't hear you, but I remember seeing you.

Ah! I figured that was you. I shouted "HEY RIDGERUNNER!! HEY RIDGERUNNER!! Its jxu!!" LOL. The other trucks nearby must've thought I was a wacko! HAHA! Yeah, I need to clean out my inbox. Will do that now.

I talked to another driver today that said he'd been with Maverick for something like 16 yrs. He was sitting at the pilot in Crawfordsville, IN. (my hometown) he mentioned something about a dedicated run from Nucor Steel in Crawfordsville to St. Louis, is anyone here on that accoun? Or ananyone here that can give me some info on it?

I haven't heard about it, but that doesn't mean it ain't there. Don't be worrying too much about getting on a dedicated account that early on Man. First of all, you are in an excellent area for freight no matter WHAT division you would be in. After you get a little bit of time in on the US Division (probably), if there is a Dedicated Acct near you, that account's FM will contact you to see if you are interested in it- if there is an opening. But, like I have warned many on here before about the dedicated gigs- BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR! (Right, nc_rider?? LOL!!!)

I was just curious about it since he mentioned it. My plan this far is to run two weeks at a time. Again thanks for all the info, hope to meet you all in person someday soon.

Why would one want to run two weeks at a time?

It does have its advantages...depending on where you live...it can mean better miles overall.

And some people just like it that way, its more laid back...not always concentrating on going home can be a lot less stressful.

    Among other things...

Purely for the money, I have no kids, no wife, no house, no apartment. I currently stay out a month at a time then come home (staying with friends and family) for 2-3 days. So getting home every 2 weeks would still be quite a bit more hometime than I'm getting now.

I'm in the same situation. I have no permanent ties at home. I stay with my parents when I do go home every 3-4 weeks.

If you really want to stay out a while look into glass. I often get 1000+ mile loads over the weekend so I don't have to sit.
