Pfp....pollocks scheduled for surgery in ft Wayne tomorrow, 0600 central time. If surgeon agrees to do the surgery, he'll get an artificial heart complete with external battery pack and then be kept in medically induced coma for a while and slowly brought out of it. More tests today revealed too much damage for heart to repair itself so that's why the artificial heart. Will be on the list for heart transplant bit that won't happen until he's stopped smoking. Obviously, the 6 month smoke free countdown has begun, he's been on a respirator since he was admitted.

pfp. Update/correction: 0600 today pollock went into surgery to have temporAry heart pump put in. Good for 2 weeks to a month. Owill then bring him out of the coma and he can decide to have permanant heart pump installed which would be good for 2 years or more.

Biggest risk right now is they pushed 8pints of blood in yesterday so there is internal bleeding somewhere but not stomach or lungs and due to meds and blood thinners there's possibility of him bleeding out during the operation. Surgery expected to lasr into the afternoon. Will update asap. Pfp

Pfp. Update....impella (sp) removed and temp heart pump was not needed because heart showed improvement after being on impella. Dr had never seen that happen. Of course Dr had never met pollock before either. Lol. So in 3 days to a week, will slowly reduce meds to bring pollock out of the coma & hopefully take him off the respirator as well. Still listed in critical condition so keep the prayers going as I will the updates. Pfp.
