I can tell ya right now Monday is going to be a real mess. They sent a lot of trucks home empty on Thursday and Friday. Now try to get everyone loaded and heading away from the storm. Wow CSRs will have their hands full. At what level will Maverick tell you to park it. Even messing around with a tarp in 30 mph winds can be dangerous enough.

For those with DEF engines. How many fallons of DEF are you using on average a week? Im curious how nuch of it you are buying to see if the extra cost of it each week negates the higher mpg savings on diesel.
-
Dan, I do not usually keep track of exactly how much I am putting in it each week, but I would guesstimate that I am putting around 4-6 gallons per week in it. Just a best guess. I usually top the DEF off twice a week it seems. -
That's probably about right. I usually try to fill mine when it gets down to 1/2 tank then it takes about 8 gallons. Of course i depends on how hard you're running. I've had to put it in at least 3 times in the past week. Pilot likes to brag about how many stops have DEF at the pumps but I stopped at 5 in a row without it and those jugs are a pain in the arse.

I delivered Monday outside of Cincinnati and wondered if id reload for the northeast. Got lucky and went to Kansas! Then deadheaded 300 miles to pickup at heidtman in granite city delivering in south Carolina. Dodged the bullet!

For me that averages out to 2 gallon for about every hundred gallons of diesel

Freind of mine was over at TMC HQ the other day a tells me the new trucks have TVs in them. Do they sit so much you have to have a TV? Or is this what it takes to recrute drivers these days.
sewerman Thanks this. -
Im guess a bit of both for them lol

saw something different this week, a Maverick truck pulling a can (port container)..on a can chassis, Hwy 6 just south of Hearn, TX.
I knew they occasionally pulled can's on flat's, I did twice while I was there. Must be some dedicated port stuff or something. -
A $200 TV is cheaper than a $5000 sign on bonus.
DrtyDiesel Thanks this.
