Ok I need some suggestions on a new xm/sirius radio. The last one I bought is a cheap plastic pos that lasted all of two months on the truck unlike my first which lasted over 6yrs.

Watched a Western Express driver pull his tarp at Precision Strip today. It was loaded shotgun, (4) chains through the eye with no edge protectors, no trip chain and here's the kicker. Two chains over the top! I thought, " Holy ####, who trains these guys"!

Thinking of getting back into trucking and looking at Maverick, I drove for Murray outta East Liverpool for a while when my daughter was younger. I really like what I am reading and what the people on the chat site tell me. I drive hard and dont like to sit in TS unless im there to S/S/S. What can I realisticly expect to make with them and do they drive into NY City. I live in WV

are you within 50 miles or so of Heaters, WV??? http://www.maverickusa.com/driving-jobs/dedicated-opportunities

I use one of these: http://www.amazon.com/SiriusXM-Edge...qid=1359689392&sr=8-2&keywords=sirius+xm+edge
It's worked for over a year for me. It's nice and easy to operate and I've had no problems with it. -
The edge is the pos that didnt last in the truck. First that flimsy mount broke then the cheap plastic dock broke. My first radio was made very sturdy and the radio itself was almost like a metal case. Guess its too much to ask these companies to build superior products like that anymore.

I have a modle xdpiv1. I think it's the cheapest one the make. The build quality and mount are crap but its worked for almost two years.
You could go with a built in unit if you want something more durable
