HA! Yeah, mine is gonna start almost getting mistaken for a Western Express or P&S Truck soon.... It is literally the color of road salt with just a slight hint of maroon undertone.

If you haven't been to US Steel in Ecorse in a while you'll be pleased to know the scale in and out procedures have been streamlined for quicker access. Heck of a lot better than what they had before!

Quick question about Home time. I'm still a noob, so maybe this is just how trucking works, but I really thought it'd be different. I "thought" it was going to be 2~3 weeks out, then 2~3 days home. Well, it is kinda like that and kinda not. My "Home" loads seems to always work out the same. Like this last one.
Pick up in Raleigh, NC. Deliver in Huntingburg, IN
So I get done loading at about 2 AM Thursday night/ Friday. That means to go Home I would drive all day Friday (app 500 miles to Newnan, GA) be off Saturday, then leave Sunday to be in IN by 0800. To me that's only one "real" day off. Driving all day Friday isn't a "day off" to me. Neither is leaving and driving over 600 miles on Sunday.
Am I just being an unrealistic whiner? To me 2~3 days off means 2~3 days away from the truck. Is this just how it works? ( all my "Home" loads have been like this) or is something wrong? Sorry to whine, thanks in advance for any info. -
Who told you 2-3 days off? They were either clueless, lying or some of both. Maverick's policy is to get you "through" the house MOST weekends, this can be as little as 10 hours. And many weekends during the year expect to not get home at all. Now in the specialized divisions it works a little differently but for flat bed that how it goes.
Why are you staying out 2-3 weeks at a time. Do you enjoy 34 hour resets sitting in the truck stop?CoalHeart Thanks this. -
Are you tcd or long haul flats?
-
how often do you go into NYC? How difficult it is to make Fuel bonus?

I have been driving since the first week of Nov and I have been to NYC/NJ area 4 times so far. Twice in Brooklyn. I just finished 2 drops in Philly, and it is about the same as Brooklyn! Once you figure out how to get in and out of there, it isn't quite as bad... But it still sucks!!!!MtDewMan Thanks this.
